Hearts  Granny  Square 


Use 6.5mm hook

Round 1: Start with a magic circle, ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, slip stitch into top of starting chain


Do not tie off




Round 2: ch3, 1dc in next 2 stitches
In each corner: 2dc, ch2, 2dc
Stitches between corners: 1dc in each stitch
End the round with 1dc in the last stitch then a slip stitch to the top of starting chain


Do not tie off



Round 3: ch3, 1dc in next 3 stitches
In each corner: 2dc, ch2, 2dc
Stitches between corners: 1dc in each stitch
End the round with 1dc in last stitch then a slip stitch to the top of starting chain

Tie off and weave in end


Change color
Round 4:  Insert hook in any corner chain space, ch3, 1dc (you will finish this corner at the end of the round)
Stitches between corners: 1dc in BLO of each stitch
In each corner: 2dc, ch2, 2dc
End the round with 2dc in the beginning corner, ch2, slip stitch to the top of starting chain

Tie off and weave in end

With same color as center of square
Working in FLO from Round 3
Round 5: insert hook in first front loop from round 3 on any side, ch1, skip 1 stitch, 3dc in next 2 stitches, skip 1 stitch, slip stitch in the next stitch, skip 1 stitch, 3dc in next 2 stitches, slip stitch in next 2 stitches
Tie off and weave in ends
Repeat on each side
