Basic Tunisian



 The first two rows of this pattern are used for the foundation of most Tunisian stitches. It’s texture, which resembles that of a woven fabric, is especially suitable for adding cross stitch embroidery.


Multiple is any number of chains plus 1

Row 1:  skip 1 chain (ch), *insert hook in the next chain (ch), draw up a loop* repeat from * across chain.

Row 2:  yarn over (yo), draw through 1 loop, *yarn over (yo), draw through 2 loops* repeat from *

Row 3:  *insert hook right to left under next vertical stitch, draw up a loop * repeat from *

Repeat from Row 2
