Special Stitches:


Front-post triple crochet (fptr): yo twice, insert hook from front to back to front around post of stitch indicated and draw up a loop, (yo, draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times; fptr made.

Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in each remaining chain across, turn

Row 2: ch2 (counts as first dc), dc in each sc across, turn

Row 3: ch1, sc in each dc across, turn

Row 4: ch2 (counts as first dc), dc in each of next 2 stitches, *fptr around next dc 2 rows below, skip next stitch, [fptr in each of next 2 dc 2 rows below, working in front of last 2 stitches worked, count back to 3rd stitch to the skipped stitch, fptr in skipped dc 2 rows below] braid made, fptr around next dc 2 rows below, dc in each of next 3 stitches on top of current row*, rep from * to * across, turn

Row 5: ch1, sc in each stitch across, turn

Row 6: ch2 (counts as first dc), dc in each of next 2 stitches, *fptr around next fptr 2 rows below, skip next stitch, [fptr in each of next 2 fptr 2 rows below, working in front of last 2 stitches worked, count back to 3rd stitch to the skipped stitch, fptr in skipped fptr 2 rows below] braid made, fptr around next fptr 2 rows below, dc in each of next 3 stitches on top of current row*, rep from * to * across, turn

Repeat Rows 5 & 6, ending pattern with Row 5
