Checkerboard Stitch


Alternating bands of single crochet (sc) and double crochet (dc) stitches

Multiple of 10 chain (ch) plus 6

Row 1: skip (sk) 2 chain (ch), 4 single crochet (sc), * 5 double crochet (dc), 5 single crochet (sc)*, repeat from * to end of row, chain (ch) 3, turn

Row 2: skip (sk) 1st stitch, 4 double crochet (dc),* 5 single crochet (sc), 5 double crochet (dc)*,  repeat from * to end of row, work final double crochet (dc) in top of chain (ch) at beginning of previous row, chain (ch) 2, turn.

Row 3: skip (sk) 1st  stitch, 4 single crochet (sc), * 5 double crochet (dc), 5 single crochet (sc)*, repeat from * to end of row, work final single crochet (sc) in top of turning chain (ch), chain (ch) 3, turn.

Repeat from Row 2.
