Wave Stitch

Wave Stitch


A popular pattern for baby blankets and Afghans. The crest of each wave is formed with one shell stitch; The distance between crests can be varied, if you wish, by adjusting the multiple.

Multiple of 13 chain 

Row 1: skip 3 chain, 4 double crochet in next 4 chain , 3 double crochet in next chain, 5 double crochet in next 5 chain, * skip 2 chain, 5 double crochet in next 5 chain, 3 double crochet in next chain, 5 double crochet in next 5 chain*, chain 3, turn

Row 2: skip 1 stitch, 4 double crochet in next 4 stitches, 3 double crochet in next stitch, 5 double crochet in next 5 stitches, * skip 2 stitches, 5 double crochet in next 5 stitches, 3 double crochet in next stitch, 5 double crochet in next 5 stitches*, on the last multiple, end with 4 double crochet, skip 1 double crochet, 1 double crochet in turning chain, chain 3, turn 

Repeat from Row 2
