Steps Stitch

Pattern progresses on a diagonal.

Multiple of 8 chain plus 3

Row 1: skip 2 chain, * 1 double crochet in each chain*, chain 2, turn.

Rows 2 and 3: skip 1 double crochet, * 4 back post double crochet, 4 front post double crochet*, 1 double crochet in top chain at beginning of Row 1, chain 2, turn.

Row 4: skip 1 double crochet, 1 front post double crochet, * 4 back post double crochet, 4 front post double crochet*, 3 front post double crochet, 1 double crochet in turning chain, chain 2, turn.

Row 5: skip 1 double crochet, 3 back post double crochet, * 4 front post double crochet, 4 back post double crochet*, 4 front post double crochet, 1 back post double crochet, 1 double crochet in turning chain, change 2, turn.

Repeat from Row 4, moving pattern one stitch to the left on the even rows.
